YYSC RECREATIONAL SOCCER PROGRAMS

Whether your child is just starting out or has been playing for several years, Recreational Soccer may be the right program for your family. Our league has two seasons each year (fall and spring) for a variety of ages from first grade through eighth grade. This program focuses on teaching age-appropriate fundamentals of soccer to our players, and can be a great way to let your child build other important skills such as a sense of teamwork as well as good sportsmanship. Many of our recreational players have progressed to travel and school teams after building their skills in the program.

   Seasons are Fall: Sept-Nov / Spring: April- June

**Kindergarten through 2nd grade is not a drop off!

 

All players are required to wear shin guards. Cleats are recommended.

 

ALL RECREATIONAL PROGRAMS ARE VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS

 

SQUIRTS DIVISION (CO-ED)

(3-4 YRS)

The clinic will run 4 in the fall and spring

The class will teach the basics of soccer: Introduction to the ball, basic foot skills and passing through fun games and activities.

Program will run on Saturdays Mornings

Price: $80/season

Spring and Fall are 2 separate seasons

 

PRE-K DIVISION (CO-ED)

Practice/Games on Saturdays (40 minute practice / 30 minute game)  

#3 Ball / Small sided fields

Players on field – 3 vs.3, No Goalies

 

KINDERGARTEN (CO-ED)

Practice/Games – Saturdays (40 minute practice / 30 minute game)

#3 Ball / small sided fields

Players on field – 4 vs.4, No goalies

 

1^st and 2^nd GRADE BOYS/GIRLS

Practices – one night during the week (1 hour)

Games – Saturday (1 hour)

#3 Ball / small sided fields

Players on the field 4 vs 4, Plus goalie

DEVELOPMENTAL SOCCER PROGRAM

3^rd-9^th grade Boys and Girls program (also known Developmental Program) places players on teams led by a parent volunteer coach.   Teams will have a weeknight practice  (3/4th grade is Tuesday and 5-8 is Thursday) and compete against other teams from our club. Travel Coach(es) are on hand to assist volunteer coaches with drills, techniques and game strategy.

Divisions are broken out by grade and are not coed:

Grade 3/4

Grade 5/6/7/8

·         Practices – one night during the week (1.5 hr) on a Yorktown Field

·         Games – Saturday 1 hr- Played in Yorktown

·         Ball size- #4

 

 

 

GENERAL RULES OF THE CLUB

 • No Jewelry, including earrings – no tape allowed to cover earrings

 

 • No hard casts allowed

 

 • Shin guards must be worn during all practices and games – no exceptions

 

 • Shin guards must be worn under socks

 

 • Cleats – highly recommended

 

 • Sports glasses are recommended for players who wear glasses

 

 • Uniform shirts must be tucked in at all times

 

You could be fined upwards of $250 if your dog defecates.

 • In inclement weather, long sleeve shirts may be worn under uniform; long pants may be worn under uniform

 

NO DOGS ALLOWED at any schools or parks.
